aboutjim

If you’ve ever met Jimmy, you remember him. His personality, his voice, his jokes….all unforgettable.

You may know him from:

• Ocoee High School in Ocoee, FL – Class of 1970
• His Stores For Men
• Cellular Dimension
• Charternet.com
• Data Dimensions
• Golfing throughout Central Florida

Jimmy has a beautiful wife Dianne, step-children and step-grandchildren he loves very much, and a wonderful and extensive network of friends.

In November 2008, he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma and fought it. Thankfully, five months later, he went into remission. At that time, he learned the chemotherapy had destroyed his liver, and he was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease. Doctors told Jimmy a liver transplant was his only hope for a second chance at life. Thankfully, Jimmy received his lifesaving liver transplant in September 2009 at Florida Hospital. He is now recovering well and is optimistic about the future.

Unfortunately, Jimmy’s new life comes at a very high price. A liver transplant costs approximately $500,000. And that’s only the beginning. Even with medical coverage, Jimmy will face significant expenses. For the rest of his life, he will need follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. The cost of post-transplant medications can range from $2,000 to $5,000 per month—and they are as critical to his survival as the transplant itself.

Jimmy is grateful for the support offered by his family and friends during his illness. He looks forward to returning to work, cycling, playing golf and spending time with his family. But he needs your help. Please make a donation today and then join us at one of our many fund-raising events to give Jimmy and his family the support they need to get the wonderful life back that he remembers.
