Jimmy Bartoli is a memorable and special person to everyone he’s met. He is always positive about life, knows every joke ever told, and he always has good things to say about everyone and everything. So, we are working together to help Jimmy and his beautiful and giving wife Dianne, raise the money they need to keep him on his path back to good health. Please join us in our efforts!

Hello everyone, We have great news on today’s update on Jimmy. We received a text from his Oncologist last night and the PetScan was negative. The Cancer is in REMISSION!!! YEAH!!! We know it is from all of the endless thoughts and prayers and we can not thank everyone enough. You have all been wonderful and have just been there planning events, raising money and have been there when we maybe just needed a shoulder to cry on or an encouraging smile or hug. We have one more CT Scan to make sure that the Lung Fungus is gone too and that is scheduled for August 11th. We can not wait to celebrate Jimmy’s Birthday Bash on August 14th and to celebrate a new beginning with a clean bill of Health and the continued friendship and support from such great friends and family. Our love and thanks goes out to each and everyone of you and we can’t wait to see you all again on the 14th. See you all then. Love Jimmy and Dianne

Hello all, Today was Chemo again, the next to the last one. YEAH! Jim is getting stronger everyday. He is slowly gaining back his weight that he lost through all of his ordeals. I will start giving Jim the Neupogyn shots again tomorrow which hopefully will bring up his counts and keep them up so that he will not have to visit our second home (the hospital). We want to thank all of you who organized and worked at the Tee off for Jim on May 8th and for everyone that participated. It was a huge success and a great time had by all. I don’t think I have seen Jim have such a good time since he has been sick. It meant the world to Jim to have all of his great friends there to join him in his first time back at golf since he has been sick. He paid for it that evening and the next day but it also did him a world of good. We also thank everyone for all of the wonderful events that you have had in his honor. All of you are the GREATEST. We will keep you all updated on his progress with the aftermath of this treatment and then the LAST one. We want to thank all of you for your hard work and help through this long struggle and can not wait to be able to visit again with all of you. Our Love to you all, Dianne and Jimmy

Hello everyone, As you all know on March 4th Jimmy had his second round of Chemo “The Chop”. Everything looked as if it was going great, the tumors disappeared and he was beginning to feel better and then Monday the 8th we went for a follow-up with the Cancer Doctor and he said his counts were a little low and Jim showed him a sore that had appeared in his lower lip. The doc said just put ambesol or something on it and it should go away. Well by the next morning his entire mouth was on fire and he was covered in sores throughout his whole mouth. We called immediately to the doc and they said come in right away for us to take a look. Well they sent us in the back and hooked up his port and were going to give him an antibiotic and in the meantime drew blood and when they saw his counts they told us he was being admitted to the hospital. His counts were .01 and the lowest it should be is 10. He was crashing and near fatal. To make a long story short we were at Altamonte Hospital for 4 days and then transferred in the middle of the night to Florida South so the Liver specialist could watch over him as well. We were finally released from there on Monday the 15th in the evening. His counts have remained just below normal. Next week they are going to start his Neupogyn shots before Chemo on Thursday the 25th and continue with them for the next 10 days. They feel that this way they can prevent this from happening. The Liver is working fantastic no problems so far there. The 2 docs are working together to make sure he makes it through this and he is back to normal. He has 4 Chemo’s left and then we hope it is back in remission. Then life can continue to be back to normal. Our love to all and again thank you for your support, hard work, and thoughts and prayers. We look forward to seeing everyone real soon. Love, Dianne and Jimmy

Hi everyone, We will be having our second dose of “Chop” Chemo on Thursday morning at 8:30. The chemo is working fantastic, all of the tumors are disappearing. I hope that he will not have to have too many more treatments before it goes into remission. Jimmy looks great and is constantly putting on weight. When he was in the hospital for his first treatment of “The Chop Chemo” he was having loss of the feeling in his left hand and numbness in it as well. They did an ultrasound of his neck and left arm and found that he had several blood clots in his neck and left arm. They have been treating it with a series of shots every day for 10 days that they give in his abdomen to help dissolve the clots and is also taking Cumidin every day. He also has a shot of Neupogyn to bring and keep up his counts. He is just getting over a severe case of Thrush that effects his mouth that is caused by his low counts. It is very uncomfortable to eat because everything makes his tongue feel like it is on fire. We just had the 5 month anniversary, February 26th from the Liver Transplant and the liver is still doing great. We loved seeing everyone at the Bowling for Bartoli, it was like a reunion of all of the people that he knows and loves and loves him too. I participated in the 5K for Jimmy and we had a great time and a great turn out. Our thanks go out to all of you that have worked so hard for Jimmy and continue to do so. We love all of you and just want to thank you all. Love to all, Dianne and Jimmy We hope to see all of you real soon.

Hi everyone, This morning we went to see the liver specialist and the liver is doing extremely well. We also went to see the Cancer specialist this afternoon and Jim is being admitted into Florida Hospital Altamonte tomorrow morning for his new dose of Chemo. The Chop!! That is the name of the miracle chemo that Castillo uses. If it works like it did previously it should wipe out the tumors right away. We are not sure how long we will be in the hospital this time. They are going to monitor him closely because some of his blood counts are still a little low. We are certain that all will go well and just ask that the thoughts and prayers continue with this now new but not new adventure. The 5K was a great success and our appreciation goes out to Trish and all of her crew and the Bowling for Jim was also a great success and we really enjoyed seeing everyone again. We can’t wait to be able to be out there with everyone again. Once again all our love and thanks, Jim and Dianne

Update Information

January 14th, 2010 by committee
Hi all,

We would like to share the newest update on Jims condition. As you all know the cancer is back.  Jim has had two treatments with a form of Chemo called Rituxin that goes after just the Lymphoma.  We had clinic and labs on Monday with the Liver specialist and all was great. Yesterday we had an appointment with our Oncologist, Dr. Castillo and he has been working with the liver specialist, which they have decided to go after the cancer in a very aggressive way. Jim’s next treatment was suppose to be just the Rituxin, but they have decided to give him a treatment called “chop” the following day, which will double his chemo treatment. They are hoping that the two working together will kill the cancer that is there and maybe he will only have to have maintenance treatments a couple times a year. The doctors seem to be very confident that all will go well. They say that the liver is working like a perfect liver and can withstand the chemo. They are trying to prevent the cancer from attacking the liver. We are all for that. The third treatment of Rituxin is January 28th and the chop is on the 29th. We will keep you informed of the progress. We would also like to thank all of you for your continued prayers and everything you are doing for us.  I think that having such wonderful friends and family with all of your love and support has helped keep us going.  We hope to see you all soon.
Our love to all,
Dianne and Jimmy
